I'm glad to have found this site--thanks for creating, Scott.  Could you guys tell me about whitewater rafting and/or other eco/adventure tours in Jarabacoa?  Thanks!  Kathy

Greetings!

Here is a good website to check out regarding eco tours in Jarabacoa:

http://www.ranchobaiguate.com/rancho2/inicio.htm

Rancho Baiguate is a great resource for activities like this.

I would also recommend 27 waterfalls, which is near Puerto Plata.

Have you come here already or are you planning a trip?  I thought you were down here already.

This would fit more under the Adventure category... but, I went paragliding for 60$ USD and saw both Jimenoa waterfalls (upper and the lower) from the air. If you are interested in Paragliding over the city of Jarabacoa, check out this site:

Simon Vacher

He speaks English.  If you are prone to motion sickness, make sure to take medication before hand.

Also, I attached an image of the falls in this post.

I've been down there twice now, but have not stayed in the Jarabacoa area for any length of time.  Will be back down end of June with family and want to do rafting or something fun and adventerous then.  Thanks for the sites!  Kathy
